The Importance of Showing Support

The Importance of Showing Support

Since its inception, Prism has had a strong ethos of support and a desire to donate our core abilities around IT support.

As a business that began with few resources, giving back in terms of support and guidance was extremely important to us.

The last year has been extremely difficult for many of us, and it’s also been a year in which we’ve seen the most tremendous acts of giving back and supporting one another.

Why is it so important?

We believe in community support because we’ve seen the impact it can have – with donating to foodbanks and donating devices to grief support charity The Dove Service.

Our donated devices have helped to provide quality service and log appointments at The Dove Service, and to share vital information about the services provided by Ruby’s Fund Sensory Centre.

These vital support systems for the community have always been doing work that has a significant impact.

So many families go through a hard time and any amount of support can make such a huge difference.

Community spirit is always lifted and increased by supporting one another, and with the impact that the pandemic has had on so many communities across the UK, it’s never been more important.

What are we doing this year?

The Government recently removed the £20 per week uplift for recipients of universal credit and working tax credits. Initially implemented during the pandemic, the impact of this is slowly become evident, particularly for families. The approach to the festive period is always a stressful one and comes with a considerable financial cost attached.

These increased costs in winter mean that families are juggling the need to heat their homes and set aside Christmas expenses, which will have a knock-on effect on their finances by the New Year.

With this in mind, we’ve decided to support The New Life Church foodbank in Congleton called the storehouse, aiming to feed families throughout such a critical period.

Our aim is to gather enough non-perishables to be distributed throughout winter to families and those in need.

How can you help?

There are so many causes to support out there, and each business, family and individual will have a different cause they are passionate about.

Many of our PETT team have taken part in purchasing non-perishable items such as tea bags, soup, pasta sauce, and tinned vegetables to donate to food banks.

We’ve always said that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a journey and should evolve as the business does, which has been true for us, and is likely true for us as individuals as well.

Supporting communities during such stressful and uncertain times can make a huge difference, which is why we’ll continue to support all of the people doing such necessary work all year round.
