Prism In The Community - The Virgin Media Pioneer Project

Prism recently took 21-year-old student and participant in the Virgin Media Pioneer Project, Jonathan Lewis, on a 1 week placement. The up-and-coming student and aspiring entrepreneur worked closely with Prism’s Business Development team in an attempt to add flair to their social media campaign which proved highly beneficial to both parties.

The project, which is heavily endorsed by Sir Richard Branson himself, saw 100 Pioneers take part in an industry-recognised training day where they were matched with top companies across the UK for ‘work experience’.

At the end of the ‘work experience’ week the Pioneers’ performances were evaluated and 10 Pioneers were chosen to form ‘The Project’ team who were given a budget and tasked with organising and hosting an event at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.

Unfortunately Jonathan just narrowly missed out on a spot in the final 10, however he felt he had learnt vast amounts from his experience and had only good words to say from his time with Prism –

“Although I didn’t make it to the final 10 I definitely feel richer from the experience gained. I got to understand what it’s like to be integrated into a team as well as learning from the other, more experienced members of the Prism Team. It has been a great experience to work with Prism as part of my work placement for Virgin Media. The company is friendly and hard-working which will always strive to provide the best service they can to new and existing clients. I’ll certainly be taking a lot of what I’ve learned and building upon it in the future.”
