PETT – Stocking up The Storehouse

Helping local third sector organisations has always been a guiding principle of PETT and our 2021 Christmas appeal did just that.

Our appeal was to raise funds in order to buy food for a local foodbank, the Storehouse at New Life Church, Congleton and a great sum of just over £500.00 was raised

Working with Lynnsey at the Storehouse, the funds have been used to help keep them stocked up during January / early February as they were inundated with food prior to Christmas, but donations tend to slowdown in January.

It is even more prevalent that organisations like the foodbank are supported during these challenging times with the cost of living and fuel cost on the rise.

The Storehouse has been running for over 4 year and during that time they have helped around 6,000 people with around 120,000 items of food being distributed.

Lynnsey, the Volunteer Manager at the Storehouse said “We are so grateful for all of PETT’s wonderful support and food donations.

It’s been lovely liaising with Kath, and she has personally shopped every item we have asked for.

Believe it or not for a small market town Congleton keeps us very busy in the foodbank. Since the pandemic our numbers have over doubled. We see in excess of 50 people per week and support lots of families, schools and approximately 8 local hostels.

Without the amazing support of our local community, supermarkets and businesses like yourselves it just simply wouldn’t all be possible.

Thank you so much from all of us a New Life.”
